Mr. ZHAO Xiangeng

Prof. ZHAO Xiangeng, specialized in condensed matter physics and nuclear physics, is Member of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE). He graduated from Shanxi University in 1982, received PhD in Science from Graduate School of China Academy of Engineering Physics (CAEP) in 1991. He was  the former President of CAEP and former Vice President of CAE.

Currently, he works as Member of Standing Committee of National People’s Congress (NPC) of P.R.China and Vice Chairman of Environment and Resources Protection Committee of NPC. He is also a senior scientific consultant of CAEP and Vice Chairman of China Nuclear Society. The awards he received include winner of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, China’s Outstanding Post-Doctor, the Qiushi Outstanding Youth Award, the HLHL Award of Scientific and Technological Progress, the Zhou Guangzhao Award, receiver of the Special Government Allowance and the Grade 1/Grade 2 candidate of the National Millions of Talents Project in China. In addition, he has won 3 times of the First Prize for China’s National Scientific and Technological Progress Award and 3 times of the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress Award at ministerial level in China.
